Best Travel Credit Card: Capital One Venture X

The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is an excellent choice for frequent travelers looking to maximize their rewards and benefits. With access to a range of airport lounges, a generous signup bonus, and various other incentives, the card is definitely worth considering for those seeking a premium travel credit card.

As a travel enthusiast, I’m excited to share my thoughts on the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card. Since its launch in 2021, this credit card has garnered plenty of attention for its impressive benefits and rewards program. Capital One has made a serious effort to enter the premium travel credit card world and compete with industry giants like American Express and Chase.

Access to Airport Lounges

One of the standout features of the Venture X card is the access it provides to a range of airport lounges, including Capital One airport clubs, Plaza Premium lounges, and a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership. As someone who values comfort and convenience while traveling, having access to these lounges is a game-changer. Plus, if you’re planning an upcoming trip with me, you’ll be able to enjoy these amazing incentives too.

Annual Fee

The annual fee for the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is $395. While it may seem expensive, if you travel at least once or twice per year, you can easily come out ahead. For example, new applicants can earn 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on eligible purchases within the first three months of approval. These points can be transferred to airline partners or used to book travel through me via Chubit Travel at a rate of one point = one cent, making those 75,000 points worth $750 in travel. Essentially, you’ve covered two years of the annual fee right there.

Earning Miles & Bonuses

Aside from the signup bonus, the card earns 2X miles for each dollar spent on non-bonus categories, 10X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, and 5X miles on flights booked through Cap One Travel. Cardholders also receive a $300 travel statement credit each year for travel purchases made through Capital One Travel, including airlines, hotels, and rental cars. Additionally, you receive 10,000 bonus miles ($100 value) deposited into your account each anniversary year.

Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Credit

Another great benefit is the up to $100 in statement credit every four years when using your Venture X card to pay for a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee. What’s more, you can pay for someone else’s application fee, not just your own.

Lounge Access

Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card cardholders enjoy complimentary admission to Capital One Lounges (currently only one location open), Priority Pass Select (including participating airport restaurants), and Plaza Premium Lounges, with unlimited visits and the ability to bring two guests. Plus, primary card members can add up to three additional cardholders for free who also have access to the lounges.

Redeeming Your Rewards

It’s important to remember that all these benefits are only worthwhile if you actually use them! Make sure to redeem your points and use your benefits wisely. See below for how you can use your points with me via Chubit Travel to maximize your points value!

  • 1. Contact me and see if we have contracted rates with flights
